How could I have been so foolish? I always thought the Verizon guy on TV who asks "Can you hear me now?" was just checking in with the system techs at Verizon.

It turns out he's been checking in with the NSA.

And no, I'm not laughing.

By the way, I never noticed before, but this guy's smug smile has a sinister edge to it!
